:: Yemeni President Abed Rabbo Mansour Hadi received in Jeddah on Saturday the chairman and members of the National Committee on Investigation of Allegations of Human Rights Violations in Yemen.

During the meeting, Hadi received the committee’s third report, containing results of its investigation into violations committed by all parties in Yemen.

He stressed the need for the committee to continue its work until the Yemeni government imposes its control over the whole country and ensures that perpetrators of violations are held accountable and that victims’ rights are preserved.

Hadi referred to violations in Taiz province by the Houthis and forces of deposed President Ali Abdullah Saleh.

They include shelling homes and hospitals; killing women, children and the elderly; and besieging the city for more than two years and blocking delivery of food, medicine and water.

The committee’s chairman and members explained the report’s findings and the difficulties they faced in producing it.

They also presented recommendations to minimize violations and improve human rights in Yemen.

The committee will officially launch the report, which will be published on its website, at a press conference in Yemen’s interim capital Aden.
