Military reinforcements in Kirkuk heading to Tal Afar

Military reinforcements reached the province take part in the operations to restore the district of Tal Afar west of Mosul.


:: A security source in Kirkuk said that large military reinforcements have reached the province to take part in the operations to retake the district of Tal Afar west of Mosul from ISIS.

The military reinforcements, consisting of the forces of the Iraqi army and the popular mobilization units, supported by medium and heavy weapons, passed through Kirkuk enroute to the district of Tall Afar to participate in the operations to fight ISIS.

The Iraqi Federal Police, announced on Tuesday, the deployment of snipers on the outskirts of the district of Tal Afar in preparation for the anticipated military operation against ISIS militants.

The commander of the federal police, Raed Jawdat said in a statement that the pioneers of the federal police forces of the 5th and 3rd divisions, snipers, aircrafts and dozens of armored vehicles reached the outskirts of Tal Afar.

Jawdat confirmed the completion of all logistical preparations to start the battle to regain Tal Afar from the ISIS’s grip.
