Olivia Newton-John ‘feeling great’ after breast cancer recovery
:: Thanking fans for supporting her, singer Olivia Newton-John recently expressed her happiness by saying that she is “feeling great” while recovering from a breast cancer that relapsed earlier this year.
The 68-year-old singer took to her Facebook account and posted a new video that was also made to highlight the centre’s ‘We Go Together’ fundraising campaign’.
She thanked fans for their “kind and loving messages of support over the past few months”.
“Your prayers and well wishes have truly helped me and continued to lift my spirits,” the actress said, adding that “I’m feeling great and so look forward to seeing you soon”.
The ‘I Honestly Love You’ singer was first treated from breast cancer in 1992 at the age of 43. She also underwent a partial mastectomy, breast reconstruction and chemotherapy at that time.
Her cancer returned in late May.
She urged fans to help her raise $1 million this year through her ‘We Go Together’ fundraising campaign.
“During this healing time — recovering from my breast cancer relapse — I’ve had time to reflect on how proud I am of this centre and the important contributions it makes to the lives of the communities it serves,” Newton-John said in the video.
“The Wellness Centre programs are improving the lives of people going through cancer. This was my dream, and it’s now a reality.”
In 2008, the Physical singer opened the Olivia Newton-John Cancer Wellness & Research Centre in Melbourne.
