Riyadh security forces find baby boy abducted from Al-Kharj hospital
:: Riyadh security forces on Friday found a baby boy who had been abducted from King Khalid Hospital in Al-Kharj less than 24 hours after he was kidnapped.
The suspect was a woman who disguised herself by wearing a nurse’s uniform, local media reported, quoting the Riyadh police.
Investigators found the child inside a mosque in Al-Hamra area east of the Saudi capital and handed him over to his mother at the hospital.
Mohammed Al-Kaabi, the baby’s uncle, explained that “a woman entered the room wearing a nurse’s uniform and approached the mother, saying that she would take the baby for medical examinations before the mother could leave the hospital.”
“An hour later, the mother asked for her son from the nurses who, in turn, said that they did not take him,” said Al-Kaabi, who immediately informed security authorities regarding the missing infant.
The Ministry of Health confirmed through its Twitter account that security authorities managed to recover the kidnapped child and return him to his mother in a short period of time.
The ministry added that the security authorities managed to do this through the use of hospital cameras to identify the woman who was disguised as a nurse. From there, they fanned out across the area, verifying information they received until they located the infant.
