:: Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov arrived in Jeddah on Saturday for a visit to the kingdom, the Saudi Press Agency reported.

He was received at the King Abdul Aziz International Airport by Minister of Foreign Affairs Adel bin Ahmed Al-Jubeir, and a number of officials.

Lavrov will also be visiting Jordan during his trip to the region.

In Amman, Lavrov will meet King Abdullah and Minister of Foreign Affairs Ayman Safadi, Russian foreign ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova said.

During meetings in Jeddah and Amman, the diplomats will discuss means of cooperation with Riyadh and Amman, the Syrian crisis and the Gulf political rift
