Forest Whitaker and Arab stars crown closing ceremony of El Gouna Film Festival

American star Forest Whitaker receives his Career Achievement Award for his outstanding contribution to the filmmaking industry.


:: Egypt’s El-Gouna Film Festival, GFF, wrapped up its first edition with smashing success amid huge presence of top Egyptian, Arab stars and international guests.

The star-studded red carpet brought to red sea resort middle-eastern celebrities including actress Yussra, Bushra, Aser Yassin, Amina Khalil, Nelly Karim, Hana Shiha, and many more.

US star Forest Whitake received an honorary Career Achievement Award for his outstanding contribution to the filmmaking industry.

Among the highlights of GFF, international director and producer Oliver Stone gave a remarkable masterclass in the art of filmmaking in Cine Gouna’s final day.

The festival screened the movie ‘Human Flow,’ a ground-breaking new documentary about the global refugee crisis from Ai Weiwei.

The first edition of El-Gouna Film Festival took place from the 22nd till the 29th of September, at the Red Sea’s honeypot destination, El Gouna Resort-town.

Through an initiative led by Engineer Naguib Sawiris, actress and producer Bushra Rozza, international event organizer Amr Mansi and producer Kamal Zadeh, GFF aims to offer an unmissable annual rendezvous for film professionals and film lovers from Egypt the Arabic countries and all over the world.
