Saudi Prince Mansour bin Muqrin, deputy governor of Asir’s plane crashed in the Jarf Rida Nature Reserve.

:: Saudi Prince Mansour bin Muqrin, deputy governor of Asir’s plane crashed in the Jarf Rida Nature Reserve which is spread around nine square kilometers , in the southwest of Saudi Arabia’s Sarawat Mountains, about 20 km northwest of Abha.

This is the area where Prince Mansour bin Muqrin and nine of his companions, lost their lives, while on long tour that began on Sunday to several locations in the region, accompanied by a number of officials.

Jarf Rida is part of the “Arabian Shield” zone, which is predominantly rocky. The area is also full of steep slopes covered by dense plants, mainly juniper, olive trees, and different kinds of cactus.

It also has many water streams that descend from the top of the cliff and pour into the Shuaib Rida area.

The region is also inhabited by many kinds of animals including baboons, Arabian wolves, striped hyenas and foxes.

The reserve is also home to tiny green bees and various species of birds such as the red-legged Arab Darrag, the Arabian woodpecker, and several species of East African origin such as the grey Abu Mewal, the African Sabad, Abu Matarqa, the Ethiopian shaqraq.
