Saudi-led coalition reopens Yemen’s Aden and Seiyoun airports
:: Yemeni officials announced on Friday evening that the Saudi-led Arab coalition fighting the Houthi militia has re-opened the Aden and Seiyoun airports four days after its decision to temporarily close Yemeni ports.
The coalition had said it closed all air, land and sea ports to the Arabian Peninsula country to stem the flow of arms to the Houthis from Iran.
The move came after Houthis fired an Iranian-made ballistic missile on the Saudi capital Riyadh last weekend.
“The coalition re-opened Aden and Seiyoun airports,” said Murad al-Halimi, transport minister of the Yemeni government. Aden airport is under control of the legitimate government.
He explained that the flights of Yemen Airways will return from Sunday.
Earlier, the coalition reopened the Aden and Mukalla sea ports.
