Kidnappers release Saudi national Ali al-Basharawi held in Lebanon

Saudi citizen Ali Al Basharawi.


:: Saudi Press Agency representative Jamal al-Saheli said that a kidnapped Saudi national held in Lebanon has been released.

Ali al-Basharawi was handed over to the Lebanese army intelligence after two cars brought him to al-Sayyid Ali deserted area.

The Saudi Embassy in Lebanon has been working with security authorities at the highest level to release the abducted citizen.

The kidnapped Saudi citizen originally hails from Dammam in the Eastern Province of Saudi Arabia.

A Lebanese security source said that his wife contacted the security forces last Thursday and reported the disappearance of her husband.

Lebanese media sources said that the family of the Saudi national received a call demanding $1 mln to release him.
