US ‘gravely alarmed’ by reports of chlorine gas use by Syrian government

The US is “gravely alarmed” by reports the Syrian government has used chlorine gas in Idlib Province.


:: The United States is “gravely alarmed” by reports the Syrian government has used chlorine gas in Idlib Province, the US State Department said in a statement on Monday.

It also said the Russian government, by shielding the Syrian government from accountability, has “not lived up to its commitments.”

The Syrian army has deployed new air defenses and anti-aircraft missiles to frontlines in the Aleppo and Idlib areas, a commander in the military alliance fighting in support of President Bashar al-Assad said on Monday.
