Emirates flight stairway collapses at Islamabad airport, 5 injured

Rescue officials said that the passengers fell on the runway after the stairway collapsed.


:: An Emirates flight stairway collapsed at Benazir Bhutto International Airport in Islamabad on Tuesday, causing five injuries according to the Tribune.

According to airport officials, the plane was departing to Dubai when the incident happened.

Rescue officials said that the passengers fell on the runway after the stairway collapsed.

Four passengers sustained injuries, including a 59-year-old American citizen who suffered from head injuries, as well as one loader.

They were all taken to the Benazir Bhutto hospital, the newspaper reported.

The collapse also caused damage to the plane’s left wing.
