Saudi FM Jubeir: US-Saudi ties bound by ‘eight decades of mutual respect’

“The Crown Prince’s visit to USA is set to strengthen historic & strategic partnership between the two friendly countries.”

:: Ahead of Tuesday’s meeting between US President Donald Trump and Saudi Crown Prince Prince Mohammed bin Salman, Saudi Foreign Minister Adel al-Jubeir hailed US-Saudi relations as “at their highest level ever.”

“The Saudi-US historic and strategic relations that go back to 8 decades are long bound by mutual respect and common interests; as well as coordination and continuous consultations on regional and international issues.

“The Crown Prince’s visit to USA is set to strengthen historic & strategic partnership between the two friendly countries. It will open new horizons of joint cooperation to benefit the two friendly countries and their people,” he said on Twitter.

On the schedule of the Saudi Crown Prince’s visit to Washington, Jubeir said Prince Mohammed bin Salman will meet officials from oil and gas companies in Houston and will hold meetings at Google, Apple and Lockheed Martin. He will also attend a Saudi-American business forum in New York and meet UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres.

The Saudi embassy in Washington announced on Monday that the Saudi crown prince will be on a three-week tour of several US cities after he meets with Trump on Tuesday.

The 32-year-old prince will travel to Boston on Saturday and meet senior financial officials in New York on March 26, the Saudi embassy statement said. The meeting coincides with Saudi oil firm Aramco’s intention to put a portion of its shares on the bourse.
