Anwar Gargash arrives for a press conference in Dubai on June 24, 2017.

:: UAE Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Anwar Gargash said on Monday that the Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman’s visit to the US, which began on Tuesday, carries a special significance.

In a tweet, Gargash said the crown prince will play an important role in bringing “political weight” of Arabs back to the global stage.

“Prince Mohamed Bin Salman’s visit to Washington carries special significance to the Arab world. In an area that was torn by regional interferences, we see the political weight of Arabs making a strong comeback with the prince’s visit as well as the position of Saudi Arabia in general,” he posted.

He added in another tweet, Gargash said: “At a time in which Arabs are in need of regaining our position and role [in the world]. Saudi Arabia fills the region with hope and dreams of a better Arab world.”

The Crown Prince arrived to Washington on Monday and will tour several US states.

The visit is set to last around three weeks and will include several political and economic meetings to discuss Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 and improve ties between the two countries.
