Saudi air force intercepts ballistic missile launched from Yemen

A ballistic missile is seen after it was fired toward the Saudi capital of Riyadh from an undisclosed location in Yemen.


:: Saudi air forces intercepted a ballistic missile launched from Yemen on Wednesday.

Four consecutive loud booms were heard in Saudi Arabia’s capital Riyadh on Wednesday, witnesses were reported as saying.

Yemen’s Houthi militia said it fired missiles at “economic targets” in Saudi capital Riyadh on Wednesday, the group’s official channel al-Masirah TV reported.

“The missile force struck … economic targets in Riyadh with a salvo of ballistic missiles,” it said in a newsflash.

In recent months, Yemen’s Houthis have targeted the Saudi capital several times with missiles the Saudi military has said it intercepted.
