King Salman chairs the Cabinet session at Al-Salam Palace in Jeddah on Tuesday.

:: To mark the start of the new academic year, the Saudi Cabinet wished students in the Kingdom every success in their educational and scientific aspirations.

During the Cabinet session at Al-Salam Place in Jeddah on Tuesday, King Salman praised Allah Almighty for enabling pilgrims to perform Hajj rituals comfortably and safely in an atmosphere of serenity and faith.

The king voiced his appreciation to the princes, ministers, the chairman and members of Supreme Hajj Committee, governors of regions and all officials and personnel of civil, military and national sectors who helped serve pilgrims and contributed to the success of the Hajj season.

The Cabinet reviewed a number of reports on events and latest developments at the international arena, highlighting the Kingdom’s contribution of $100 million to the Global Coalition Against Daesh in areas liberated from the terrorist organization, northeast of Syria.

The Cabinet stressed that this contribution aims to support the coalition efforts to revitalize local societies, focus on projects to restore livelihoods and basic services, save lives, facilitate the return of displaced Syrians and ensure that Daesh and other terrorist organizations shall not return to threaten Syria or its neighbors.

The Cabinet was briefed on the statement issued by the Coalition for Supporting Legitimacy in Yemen and its clarification on the report of the High Commissioner for Human Rights issued on Aug. 28 on the situation of human rights in Yemen, and the Cabinet commended the statement’s refutation and disagreement of most of the conclusions, allegations, fallacies and impartiality.

The Cabinet expressed Saudi Arabia’s strong condemnation and denunciation of the terrorist attacks that took place in a number of sisterly and friendly countries during the past few days, confirming the Kingdom’s solidarity and support for the measures taken by them to combat acts of violence, terrorism and extremism targeting security and stability around the world and offered its condolences and sympathies to their governments and peoples as well as to the families of the victims and wished the injured a speedy recovery.
