Saudi Arabia signs statute of OIC Labor Center

The agreement was signed by Saudi Labor Minister Ahmed bin Sulaiman Al-Rajhi in the presence of OIC Secretary-General Dr. Yousef bin Ahmed Al-Othaimeen and Azerbaijan Ambassador Shahin Abdulayev.


:: The Kingdom on Sunday signed the statute of the Labor Centre of the Organization of the Islamic Cooperation. The signing ceremony took place at the headquarters of the OIC General Secretariat in Jeddah.

The agreement was signed by Saudi Labor Minister Ahmed bin Sulaiman Al-Rajhi in the presence of OIC Secretary-General Dr. Yousef bin Ahmed Al-Othaimeen and Azerbaijan Ambassador Shahin Abdulayev, as Azerbaijan is the headquarter state of the Labor Centre.

The center aims at strengthening and empowering social development efforts of the OIC member states. It gives a strong impetus to the collective efforts of the member states to prepare the labor force of the OIC countries to meet the challenges of globalization and trade liberalization. The activation of the center will also promote mutually beneficial cooperation among Islamic countries.
