Saudi finance ministry to take part in WSIS Forum 2019 in Geneva

Saudi Arabia is participating in the World Summit on the Information Society (WSIS) Forum 2019 to be held in Geneva.


:: Saudi Arabia is participating in the World Summit on the Information Society (WSIS) Forum 2019 to be held in Geneva, Switzerland from April 8-12.

The theme of this year’s forum is ‘Information and Communication Technologies for achieving the Sustainable Development Goals’.

Ministry of Finance is scheduled to participate in a workshop entitled “Saudi Success Stories in the Provision of Financial and Digital Business Services”, to highlight its efforts and initiatives in applying its digital transformation plan for the Kingdom’s governmental system.

The ministry will also introduce its digital portal Etimad, as the first of its kind in the kingdom to streamline services for the public and private sector.

Meanwhile, the Saudi Minister of Finance has met a number of European ambassadors to the Kingdom at his office in Riyadh on Sunday.

The ambassadors from Sweden, Denmark, Norway, and the charge d’Affaires of Finland meet with the minister in a meeting where they discussed bilateral ties with Saudi Arabia.

The officials discussed ways of enhancing the aspects of financial and economic cooperation within the strategic relations.

The meeting also tackled the positive developments being witnessed by the Saudi economy and the Kingdom’s efforts to achieve the financial equilibrium and economic diversification within the Kingdom vision 2030.

The meeting was attended by deputy minister of finance Dr. Hamad bin Sulaiman Al-Bazei; Minister’s advisor Thamer bin Saleh Al-Jard; and a number of officials.
