Iraqi PM to visit Saudi Arabia Wednesday and meet King Salman, crown prince

Iraq’s Prime Minister Adel Abdul-Mahdi last visited Saudi Arabia in April.


:: Iraq’s prime minister will visit Saudi Arabia on Wednesday and hold talks with King Salman.

Adel Abdul-Mahdi will also meet Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, the prime minister’s office said.

The talks will cover bilateral ties and regional developments.

The two countries have strengthened their relations in recent years with a number of senior officials from Iraq visiting the Kingdom.

A Saudi economic delegation traveled to Iraq in April and during the visit, a new consulate was opened in Baghdad.

A few weeks later, Abdul-Mahdi visited Riyadh and met King Salman.
