:: The fourth Makkah Cultural Forum will be inaugurated today by Prince Khaled Al-Faisal, governor of Makkah and adviser to King Salman, at the Hilton Hotel in Jeddah.

Over 200 governmental and private authorities interested in the Arabic language will be participating in the forum under the theme “how to be a role model in the language of the Holy Qur’an.”

The forum is being hosted by the King Abdullah bin Abdul Aziz International Center for the Arabic Language to engage in a panel discussion aiming at finding initiatives that promote Arabic and its uses.

The forum aims at involving authorities, institutions, and individuals in the development of cultural identity and promoting the use of Arabic in all aspects of life.

Last year’s forum, held under the theme “how to develop our cities to serve Hajj and Umrah,” worked on achieving several initiatives, including an SR1 million ($266,000) award for innovation in the Hajj and Umrah field.

The first and second editions of the forum succeeded in providing distinguished cultural events, which increased the efficiency of cultural work among relevant authorities in the region.
